The best movies cannot be decided in any manner as the term best is somewhat subjective. Commonly the films are ranked best or stupid by simply the display at the box office. However, a fair and extensive study delivers the real ranks. Claim of best movies is not only for the reasons mentioned earlier; in fact it depends on the trend of the time also. The movie “Night Mare on the Elm Street” or “The Predator” gave birth to a trend and at that time, so many movies were released on similar lines yet not all of them could reach the level of best, just a small number of those movies did. Movies like Edge of Darkness, “date with an angel”, “God father”, “the forest Gump”, “the gladiator”, “the good the bad the ugly” or “walk like a man”, “superman”, “Spiderman” may be called as all-time best but then again there would be so many of us who would mark these movies nowhere close to the best.
There remains a consensus within most movie historians, critics, and the viewers that the movies once graded best are obviously a part of the most critically appreciated, important, and must-see films of their times. They are the movies which leave endless and exceptional imprints on us. They amuse, captivate, educate, and touch us emotionally. Many of these best movies were made years ago and might have been overlooked on first release but the time endured test confirmed them to be the best.
